Do your people inspire others?
Are you creating effective leaders?
‘Most .. [people] come to coaching because they want something to change. ‘Often what people need when they are trying to bring about … change is someone to listen and respond as they talk through different ideas and possible courses of action. … They need a ‘sounding board’’.
Alison Hardingham, ‘The Coach’s Coach’, CIPD 2006
Interest in coaching is growing very rapidly, it is being used in every aspect of business and work, and by many major organisations from the NHS, to B&Q and the BBC. Wherever people or organisations are striving to do better, coaching has a role. The whole basis of coaching is to help the client, whether this is an individual or an organisation and throughout the coaching process, our clients are always at the centre of what we do. When there are major changes that need to be achieved, coaching is the answer.
You can achieve changes in behaviour, acquire new skills, set new goals and generally increase individual performance. In one to one sessions we act as a sounding board, a supporter, challenger, goal setter and will help to monitor progress. (For more information on coaching, see ‘Choosing a Professional Coach’ and ‘The CIPD Guide to Coaching and Buying Services’.)
We offer:
- Performance coaching
- Co-active™ coaching
Performance coaching involves our clients in becoming more self-aware and developing their skills to bring about enhanced performance. Many of the influences we use come from the world of sport and sports coaching.
Co-active coaching is about developing a unique agenda that may include all areas of a client’s life and work.
‘The trap most people fall into is to use a ‘one-track’ approach to leading others. They feel comfortable with one particular leadership style and so rely on that almost exclusively. Truly effective leaders vary the style they adopt… They demonstrate ‘leadership wisdom’.
‘Be a Better Leader’, Personnel Today, 24th October, 2006
Being able to vary one’s leadership style and show leadership wisdom, requires understanding of who you are and the situation you’re in. It’s not just about confidence and keeping your eye on the ball, but also about developing positive thinking and mental toughness as well.
We offer:
- master classes in management topics, leadership skills and positive psychology
- coaching in performance or Co-active™ coaching with 360 degree feedback
- peer programmes with action learning
Action learning brings together individuals in structured meetings, to reflect on and tackle organisational and performance issues. Space and time is given to solve problems, develop leadership and gain feedback on people’s actions.
‘I have found the coaching sessions to be a very useful context in which to work through challenges and reflect on my own and other’s behaviours. And to learn more about myself.’
